What a wonderful destination: Corsica! We absolutely loved this French island! It has everything: beautiful beaches, mountains, great nature, vineyards, good food. And did you know that you can even ski in Corsica (in winter of course!).

Round tripping in Corsica

Best hotels in Ajaccio
Ajaccio is the capital of Corsica and, together with Bastia, the place where most ferries and planes land. There is therefore a good chance that you will start your Corsica trip in Bastia. Below you will find three possible hotels in Ajaccio.
Rosie’s Club €
This cute and quirky hotel is located in the center of Ajaccio. From the outside it looks a bit crazy, but looks can be deceiving! The rooms are modern, the common areas cozy and free parking! From €100 per night.
Hotel Marengo €€
Hotel Marengo is located opposite the beach, in a quiet area but close to the center of Ajaccio. The garden is lovely and lush, the rooms are nice and spacious including air conditioning and wifi. From €115 per night.
Villa Alba Rosula €€€
This brand new hotel, founded by a former chef, serves the most amazing breakfasts. The decor is modern and the swimming pool provides cooling. You stay here from €220 per night including breakfast.

Nice hotels in Piana
Piana is the village that lies near Les Calanches de Piana. This is a beautiful nature reserve in the northwest of Corsica. Jagged rocks rise dramatically from the sea here, giving fairytale-like sculptures. You can make beautiful hikes in this area or enjoy the beach. Read all about Les Calanches de Piana in our blog.
To be quite honest we were not really “blown away” by the range of hotels in Piana. The village is really quite small and many of the hotels are just a bit standard and or outdated. Nevertheless, we have found three good hotels in different budget classes below.
Hotel Scandola €
We stayed in hotel Scandola, and had a budget room here for €80 a night including a very good breakfast. Our room was simple but spacious. The more luxurious rooms looked nice. The highlight is certainly the terrace with a beautiful view of the bay.
Appartement Bella Vista €€
This beautiful apartment has a nice living room, two bedrooms and above all a great terrace with BBQ and views of the valley and the bay. It is located in the village of Piana itself and the beach is a fifteen minute walk away. From €152 per night.
Hotel Capo Rosso €€€
This is one of the most luxurious hotels in the center of Piana. Here you will find a swimming pool, balconies overlooking the bay and the valley, and a restaurant serving traditional Corsican cuisine. You stay here from €200 per night including breakfast.

Best hotels in Calvin
Calvi is a beautiful historic town in the northwest of Corsica. Calvi is not big so in two days you have seen most of it.
Hotel Mediterranee €
The rooms of this hotel are somewhat basic, but the location (right in the center), the swimming pool and the price (from €75 per night) make up for it all! Perfect if you are traveling on a budget.
Casa Bianca €€
Casa Bianca is located in a quiet location, near the beach but also within walking distance of the old town. Two beautiful swimming pools complete this place! From €118 per night.
La villa Calvi €€€
This super luxurious resort is a 5-minute drive from the center. There are 5 beautiful pools, tennis courts, a spa and the rooms are spacious. From €315 per night including breakfast.

Where to stay in Bastia?
Bastia is the other bigger city in Corsica where many travelers start or end their journey through Corsica. And so did we. Three fine hotels in Bastia are the following:
Monsieur Miot €€
Monsieur Miot’s cute little hotel is located in the center of Bastia. It belongs to a cafe/restaurant and has simple but nice rooms. From €90 per night.
Hotel Port Toga €€
This hotel is located just outside the center, but close to the ferry. There is a nice rooftop pool for cooling off. There is also a gym. From €84 per night.
Des Gouverneurs €€€
This luxury hotel has harbor views, an indoor pool and spa. The sea view rooms are especially great! You stay here from €130 per night excl. breakfast.

Nice hotels in Porto-Vecchio
Porto-Vecchio is the jet-set city of Corsica. We were less impressed by this place, but it’s close to beautiful beaches. Good to know: most hotels are located outside the center of Porto-Vecchio. The center of the city is built on a hill and you can hardly get here by car.
City di Lume Suites €
The spacious suites and apartments of this hotel are not far from the center (7 min walk). They are nicely and modernly furnished with kitchen. There is a (partly covered) swimming pool for cooling off. From €110 per night excl. breakfast.
Hotel Le Roi Théodore €€
During our honeymoon we stayed a few nights in this luxury hotel. The rooms are spacious, in terms of design not quite our thing. But what we loved here: the two beautiful pools! You stay here from €150 per night excluding breakfast.
Les Chambres de Mila €€€
The beautiful boutique hotel Chambres de Mila is located in the middle of nature, a 5-minute drive from Rodinara Beach. It’s a 15-minute drive from Porto-Vecchio, but the location is more than worth it! From €190 per night incl. breakfast.

Where do you stay in Bonifacio?
Bonifacio is our favorite town in Corsica. The old center is beautifully situated high on the rocks by the sea, resulting in great views. Besides good food, drink and shopping you will also find plenty of history in Bonifacio. Nearby are some of the most beautiful beaches in Corsica and you can walk along the coast. The best hotels in Propriano
Propriano is a coastal town in southwestern Corsica. The city itself is certainly not big, but the area is perfect because it has a beautiful bay where you will find all kinds of wonderful beaches and nice hotels. It is not very touristy here and that certainly has its advantages.
